The Miraculous Medal dates back to 1830, when the Virgin Mary appeared to Saint Catherine Labouré in the chapel on Rue du Bac in Paris. During these apparitions, Mary revealed the design of the medal and asked for it to be made and shared, promising graces to those who would wear it with faith.
